Gibberish printing occurs when the printer cannot properly interpret the data stream reaching it and prints garbage text and random white space instead of the document expected.

LaserJet 4 Plus printing gobbledygook I have a formerly trusty Laserjet 4Plus connected OK to a machine running on Windows 7 but all it prints is gobbledygook. I have a very simple question to ask. I tried to print a page in Acrobat DC but it printed gibberish. I tried it twice and both times it was just plain greek to me. However, the same page prints just fine using Microsoft PDF printer in Windows 10. Does anybody know why? the link is here:

If your printer is connected to your computer over a network or through a USB hub, connect the printer directly to the computer with a USB cable. If your printer is connected to a wireless network, turn off the wireless signal. Disconnect any USB or Ethernet cables from the printer. Restart the printer by turning the power off, and then back on.

Put your Print server's IP # in the ACL residing within the HP Printer. This way you only allow one server to talk to the printer. Make sure the print server has the proper drivers setup to share out to all the PCs and you are golden. PCs talk to the print server and then the print server talks to the printer.
